ARCHDIOCESAN CHANCELLOR VISITS C.K.C IDDAH, SPEAKS ON PPC, LAITY AND NEXT ELECTIONS
On 15th June, 2024 Very Revd. Fr. Christian Okewu Emmanuel the Archdiocesan Chancellor and Dean of Sabon Tasha, was at Christ the King Parish, Iddah, for a presentation centered around, the Parish Pastoral Council, the Laity Council and the next elections.
Some of the interesting discussions at the event were centered around some of these questions:
What is the status of the PPC and its place in the Pastor’s ministry?
What is the difference between the PPC and the Parish Laity Council?
How are both Councils to be composed?
Are all Masu Wa’azi members of the PPC?
Is the Laity Council an advisory council to the Pastor?
What is the precise status of the PPC in Law? Do they know it?
What are the provisions of the Pastoral Constitution on elections into the Councils?
Speaking with the Cross News correspondence shortly after the event the Parish Priest Revd. Fr. Vincent Boniface Avong said the turnout was overwhelming and the participants were enlightened. He encouraged other Parishes in the Archdiocese to do the same before the next elections of Pastoral Executive in the Archdiocese.
