It is a very difficult time in the country with hunger and a high cost of living, but despite all that, I think one important thing we owe ourselves is to be able to tell ourselves the truth. We may lie to others, but we should never lie to ourselves.

The Owerri Archdiocesan Security Service OASS on Friday, 11th of July 2024 at the Assumpta pavilion celebrated the passing-out parade of their Pioneer Cadets under the chairmanship of Chief Jerry Chukwueke, and His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma ably represented by Chief Cosmos Iwu, secretary to the governor government as chief guest of honour.

Addressing representatives of the Nigeria Catholic Diocesan Priests Association (NCDPA), the President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), Most Rev. Lucius Ugorji, expressed the Church’s concern over the alarming rise in private ministries and the misuse of social media among priests.

ARCHBISHOP NDAGOSO ATTENDS RADIO MARIA INTERNATIONAL MARIATHON

The quiet countryside of Baldershwang in the Diocese of Augsburg, Germany, was agog with activities from 3rd - 6th May, 2024, as the World Family of Radio Maria held her 2024 international Mariathon at Radio Horeb (Radio Maria in Germany). The Mariathon is an annual activity of Radio Maria held in all Radio Maria stations across the world in the month of May, with the World Family – the umbrella body of all Radio Maria stations in the world – organizing the international Mariathon, which focuses on international needs of the radio.

ARCHDIOCESE OF KADUNA INAUGURATES YEAR OF PRAYER

The Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna joined the Universal Church on Saturday, 6th July, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Kaduna, to inaugurate the Year of Prayer for the Jubilee of Hope, with the theme: “Pray without Ceasing” (1 Thess 5:17).

In his homily at the Mass, the Archbishop Most Revd. Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso charged clergy and the faithful of the Archdiocese to step down the activities of the year of Prayer in their various Parishes and places of domicile.
