ARCHDIOCESE OF KADUNA INAUGURATES YEAR OF PRAYER

The Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna joined the Universal Church on Saturday, 6th July, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Kaduna, to inaugurate the Year of Prayer for the Jubilee of Hope, with the theme: “Pray without Ceasing” (1 Thess 5:17).
In his homily at the Mass, the Archbishop Most Revd. Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso charged clergy and the faithful of the Archdiocese to step down the activities of the year of Prayer in their various Parishes and places of domicile.
He called on the Laity to permeate the society with Christian values and teachings. Adding that they live and work with the people in their various communities.
Shortly after the Mass, presentations were made on Prayer by Revd. Frs. Emmanuel Madaki, John Ogheihor, CSSR, Julius Madaki and Fr. Christopher Nwafor, MSP, reflected on the Ten Commandments. Other presentations were made on some selected Church documents such as: Sacrosanctum Concilium (On Sacred Liturgy) by Fr. John Allahmagani Bagobiri, while Fr. James Tella spoke on Lumen Gentium (Dogmatic Constitution Of The Church).
Fr. Julius Madaki made presentation on Dei Verbum (Dogmatic Constitution On Divine Revelation), and Fr. Celestine Katung spoke on Gaudium Et Spes (Pastoral Constitution Of The Church).
In his closing remarks the Archbishop thanked the organizers of the program and encouraged the participants to go and step down the activities lined up for the year of Prayer which will lead the Church into the Jubilee year. He called on societies and groups to participate actively in the progams.
The event witnessed great number of Priests, Religious, Laity and other Lay Organizations, and Societies in the Archdiocese
